"Crazy" David Penney
Originally from the Highlands of Scotland, David Penney has spent much of his life bringing people together and leading initiatives that make a real difference. He's known for turning ideas into action, and for a genuine, unwavering commitment to community and inclusion.
Throughout his career David has owned and run local businesses, but his real passion has always been people. He believes success isn't just about what you achieve yourself - it's about the opportunities you create for others.
That belief is why Disability Holidays Trust was founded: to remove barriers, promote inclusion, and give people living with disabilities greater access to life-enriching travel experiences.
David has a genuine love of the outdoors and believes everyone should get to experience the freedom, joy and memories that travel can bring. As Founder & volunteer CEO, he works alongside an independent Board of Trustees to provide strategic leadership, build partnerships, and champion accessibility for all.
David's Personal Statement
"I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the world with dignity, confidence, and a sense of adventure, regardless of disability or circumstance. If we can remove barriers, open doors, and create opportunities that help even one person make memories they never thought possible, then we are making a real difference. My vision is to build a future where inclusion isn't something we aspire to, it is simply the way the world works."
